Homemade Cheddar Biscuits Ingredients
Instructions
1) Preheat the oven to 420 F.
2) Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3) In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, granulated sugar, garlic powder, and baking powder. Add cubes of cold butter and using a cutter or fork cut the butter until the mixture forms chickpea-size pieces.
4) Pour the cold buttermilk and mix just until combined with a wood spoon. Add the shredded cheese and gently mix everything by hand.
5) Put the dough onto a floured work surface and roll it out into a 1-inch thick rectangle. Fold one side into the center and then the other side as shown in the IG Reel. Roll it out to a 1-inch thick rectangle again.
6) Using a cookie cutter, cut out biscuits. Transfer the biscuits to the baking sheet.
7) Brush with egg wash on the top of biscuits (optional).
8) Bake for 14-17 min until golden brown.
9) Remove from the oven and brush the top of the biscuits with butter.
Serve warm.
