Homemade Garlic Bread
You can make this recipe as a Sunday breakfast classic or you can use it as a snack. For a simple, delicious and healthy snack, you should definitely try the homemade garlic bread recipe.
You can fry the garlic bread in the oven or in the pan. I like pan frying more. It takes less time and the breads dry less in the pan. Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. But the oven version is also quite tasty.
Homemade Garlic Bread Ingredients
Instructions
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Chop off the top stem of the garlic head to expose the individual cloves. Place garlic on a piece of foil, and drizzle with olive oil to coat the exposed cloves. Season with salt and pepper, and sprinkle with thyme.
Wrap the aluminum foil around the head of garlic to seal so the oil doesn't seep from the packet. Place on a cookie sheet and bake for 45 minutes.
Allow to cool and use on anything: toast for garlic bread, popcorn, cooked vegetables, dissolved into mayo or butter, tossed with pasta, stirred into mashed potatoes, mixed into meatballs or hamburger patties.
We take butter, extra virgin olive oil, parsley, grated cheddar cheese, salt and spices in a bowl. After squeezing the cooked garlic on it, we mix it and spread it on the bread.
If you're going to bake it in the oven, put some more grated cheddar cheese on top and bake it in the oven at 400°F.
