Spanish Flavor Cream Catalan Ingredients

 17 oz Whole Milk
 4 Egg Yolks
 3 tbsp Sugar
 1 tbsp Cornstarch
 ½ Orange Peel
 ½ Lemon Peel
 ½ cup Granulated Sugar
 1 stick Cinnamon

Instructions

Pour the milk in a saucepan, add cinnamon sticks, lemon peels and orange peels into it and mix. Boil for a while on the stove. Then turn off the heat and let it rest for 15 minutes at room temperature.

Take the egg yolks in a large bowl. Add half a glass of sugar to it.

Add the cornstarch and a pinch of salt. Beat until you get a smooth yellow color.

Pour the warm milk into the bowl with egg yolk mixture and whisk together. Then take it back to the pot and cook it on the stove, on low heat, stirring constantly.

Cover the top of each cream catalan with plastic wrap to prevent a skin from forming on top. Let it rest in the refrigerator overnight. The next day, take the plastic wrap from each of them and cover them with sugar.

Burn the candies either on the upper grill of the oven or with a blowtorch. You can serve it by garnishing with red fruits.
